NORTH ADRIATIC INITIATIVE, PROJECT UMAG (HR) -PORTOROŽ (SLO) -TRIESTE (ITA)

On day 31.01.2018. in Piran, the first meeting of a working group was made by the clubs of three countries, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, at the initiative of one of the world’s biggest volleyball players, Vladimir Grbic. The meeting was attended by Vladimir Grbic and three club presidents, with their trainers: Rok Črnošija – president of the Volley Club (Portorož -SLO), Andrej Maver – President of the Sloga Tabor (Trst-ITA) club, Edi Forza president MOK UMAG- CPM UMAGO (Umag HR).
The initiative started with Mr. Vladimir Grbac during his last visit to Umag in November last year and based on the experience of a project already underway on the hinterland of Croatia, Serbia and BiH (Osijek, Lukavac, Sremska Mitrovica).
This is a project aimed at younger age categories, male and female children of all ages, from 9 to 18 years with emphasis on volleyball. The project would include also children with special needs.
Project Goals:
– Creating strong bonds between clubs in these regions and improving them
– Education of children
– Training of coaches
– Education of judges
– Monitoring the motor, psychological, functional and postural status of children of different ages in these three regions
– Determining the sensible phases in the development of the motor and the timely influence on its development
– Socialization and integration of the child into the group
– Encourage new and original ways to use volleyball in communicating society at national, regional and local level
In addition, every 15 to 20 days would be maintained (each time in one of the cities) a tournaments (one-day) .
Seminars and trainers would be held every 3 months. At the same time, joint camps could be organized for up to 10 days.
All this would take place within the regular activities of clubs and their activities, which would in no way create additional problems for the regular programs that clubs already have, but would merely add more accent to a more qualitative and professional approach, and monitoring children’s development under expert supervision
The presidents and the trainers, together with Mr. Grbic, agreed that this was a novelty and a very interesting initiative and valuable consideration. It was agreed that everyone in their cities would talk to their mayors and local government and to organize as soon as possible a meeting at the mayor level in order to present them more closely to the project and everything needed to organize it as soon as possible.
Carriers of such a project would be cities, and project funding would go from European fundraising projects.
The conclusion of this meeting is to start the talks and to organize the next meeting by the end of February and beaginig of march, after all consultations and presentations
We will keep you informed about everything.

Edi Forza
President of the club
MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO
