Today 01.10.2019. the MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO club ( men’s volleyball club) together with the OK UMAG-CP UMAGO (women’s volleyball club), and in collaboration with the Italian school SEI Galileo Galilei, made a presentation of volleyball as a sport, for students from first to fourth grade.
MOK Umag-CPM Umago for the fifth consecutive year, holds twice a year a presentation of volleyball in the primary schools of Umag, as provided for in the club’s annual work programs. During the presentation, were shown the basics of the technique of this sport and with lots of play and fun. The purpose of the presentation is to bring this sport closer to our young people, that in the last 16 years this sport has become increasingly involved in the sports family of the city of Umag. Except for the OK Umag-CP Umago women’s volleyball club Umag, the MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO men’s volleyball club has been active in our city for 8 years, which together already have more than 170 members of all ages. These presentations have the task of pedagogical work with the younger generations, because in today’s highly developed society, sport has become a categorical imperative, which has a direct impact on the social, economic and health profile of the community. This promotion confirms Umag’s efforts, after being nominated by the European Commission, the European capital of sport for 2018, to allow all its citizens to practice sport in order to build a healthy lifestyle and athletic development.
The presentation was conducted by our expert trainer (MOK UMAG coach), Mr. Dragan Salapura, along with the former Croatian national team captain, Ivica Radočaj (OK UMAG-CPM UMAG coach) in the presence of lower grade, school teachers.
Thanks to this, we would like to thank the principal of SEI Galileo Galilei, Mr. Arden Sirotić, and the teachers who were available and participating (as every year) to help this initiative.
