Yesterday 08.02.2018. was MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO in cooperation with the Italian School SEI Galileo Galilei, held a volleyball presentation as a sport for 1st to 4th grade students.
MOK Umag-CPM Umago, for the third consecutive year, has been holding twice a year a volleyball presentation in Umag’s primary schools, as in the annual work programs of the club. During the presentation, the basics of the technique in this sport were shown. The aim of the presentation is to bring this sport closer to our youth, given that for the last 15 years this sport has become more and more part of the Umag sports family. Namely, besides the female volleyball club OK Umag, -CP Umago, the MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO Men’s Volleyball Club has been active for 7 years in our city, which already has more than 160 members of all ages. These presentations also have the task of pedagogical work with younger generations, because in today’s highly-developed society, sporting activity has become a categorical imperative that has a direct impact on the social, economic and health image of the community. This promotion has only confirmed the efforts of the city of Umag, following a recent nomination by the European Commission, the European Sports City for 2018, to enable all its fellow citizens to engage in sport in order to build a healthy way of living and sporting progress.
The presentation was led by our experienced and overwhelmed coach (coach MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO), Mr. Dragan Salapura, in the presence of lower grade teachers in elementary schools.
Thanks to this, we would like to thank the director of the Italian elementary school SEI Galileo Galilei, and the teachers who, with pleasure (as every year), helped this initiative.
Edi Forza
President of the club
