Last weekend, August 14th and 15th. on the beach of Novalja, on the island of Pag, took place the 4th and last round of the 1st Croatian beach volleyball championship for seniors.
This weekend the MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO performed with the following couples:
1st couple: Luka Burić / Borut Marković
2nd couple Alex Četojević / Nicolas Sodomaco
This weekend we saw fantastic performances by our couples, despite the tropical heat that reigned in Novalja, our boys played at the highest level. On the first day our boys recorded a draw, against the team of KOP ŽNJAN, and a victory, against the team of HAOK ŽAL BANJOLE.
On the second day, Sunday, against KOP ZAGREB, there were victories for both of our couples.
So this weekend we scored 5 points out of 6 possible, which brought our club to 4th place in the standings, just 2 points from third, which is an excellent result, considering the first year of competition in the 1st League of the Croatian beach volleyball championship.
It was a real pleasure to see our youngest members, Nicolas Sodomaco and Alex Četojević, playing against more experienced players, fearless and at the same level. This ultimately led to the victories. We must also say that our most experienced pair played brilliantly and recorded all three wins with a very good and mature game.
This is another proof that Umag is always creating new young players, which is a great pleasure for the club, as Umag was and remains the pioneer and birthplace of this wonderful sport in Croatia.
