VOLLEYBALL SCHOOL – PRESENTATION IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS OF THE CITY OF UMAG

Today 20/10/2021 The coaches Luka Burić of MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO (men’s volleyball club) and Ivica Radočaj of OK UMAG-CP UMAGO (women’s volleyball club), gave a presentation of volleyball, as a sport, for the  1 ° to the 4th grade, in the Croatian elementary school “Marija e Lina.”
MOK Umag-CPM Umag traditionally holds the presentation of volleyball twice a year, for the sixth consecutive year, in the primary schools of the city of Umag, as foreseen in the club’s annual work programs. During the presentation were shown the basics of the technique of this sport, with lots of fun and games. The aim of the presentation is to bring this sport closer to young people, as in the last 16 years this sport has increasingly become part of the sporting family of the city of Umag. That is to say that, in addition to the OK Umag -CP Umago women’s volleyball club, the MOK UMAG-CPM UMAGO men’s volleyball club has also been active in our city for 10 years, bringing together more than 170 members of all ages.
These presentations also have the task of pedagogical work with the younger generation, because in today’s highly developed society, practicing sports has become a categorical imperative that has a direct impact on the social, economic and health image of the community. This promotion only confirmed the efforts of the city of Umag, after the nomination by the European Commission, European City of Sport for 2018, to allow all its fellow citizens to practice sports in order to build a healthy lifestyle and allowing sports progress.
The presentation was led by an experienced coach (OK UMAG coach) Mr. Ivica Radočaj, also former captain of the Croatian men’s national team and former player, and the coach of MOK UMAG, Luka Burić, in the presence of the teachers.
We thank the teachers who gladly (as every year) have contributed to this initiative, supporting it.
